Canvas Reminders

As the new semester gets underway, here are a few Canvas-related reminders:


Mute Grades Updated, Now “Post Grades”

Do you use the “Mute Assignment” feature to hide grades in the Canvas grade book?  If so, please note that this feature has been replaced by the new Grade Post Policies feature.  Instead of “muting” an assignment column in the grade book, instructors can set a course or individual assignment post policy which hides grades automatically.  Grades will remain hidden for students until the instructor posts the grades for the assignment.  Grade post policies can be set for the entire course or for an individual assignment. Instructors can also choose to hide grades even after they’ve been posted (aka made visible to students).  When ready to make visible to students, simply post the grades again.

UNC Greensboro welcomes area university and college professionals to our second annual NC Canvas Meetup session, on Wednesday, September 18, 2019

During this event, we will exchange ideas related to recommended practices for teaching and learning when using Canvas for online learning. The event is open to instructors, instructional designers, librarians, administrators, and anyone else who is using technology for teaching and learning.

Registration is open. Sessions will include topics such as Academic Integrity in the Digital Age, Mastery Paths in Canvas, Canvas Studio for Interactive Video, Best Practices in Canvas, Assessment, and many more! We look forward to having you attend the 2019 NC Canvas Meetup!
