- All course content must be published in order for students to see it. This includes Modules, individual items, and all assignments. Look for the green check to the right of items- this indicates the items are published.
- Instructions for how to combine/cross-list courses
- Basic Accessibility Compliance in Canvas
- Guidance for those who are new to teaching online
- General Canvas resources
- UNCG Libraries Distance & Online Services
Mute Grades Updated, Now “Post Grades”
Do you use the “Mute Assignment” feature to hide grades in the Canvas grade book? If so, please note that this feature has been replaced by the new Grade Post Policies feature. Instead of “muting” an assignment column in the grade book, instructors can set a course or individual assignment post policy which hides grades automatically. Grades will remain hidden for students until the instructor posts the grades for the assignment. Grade post policies can be set for the entire course or for an individual assignment. Instructors can also choose to hide grades even after they’ve been posted (aka made visible to students). When ready to make visible to students, simply post the grades again.
The following Canvas guides will assist with hiding and posting grades in the Canvas gradebook and in SpeedGrader:
- How to set a default grade posting policy for a course
- How to set a default grade post policy for an individual assignment
- How to hide grades for an assignment
- How to post grades for an assignment
